This comprehensive session combines a case-based lecture presentation with an interactive workshop to enhance the clinician's understanding and utilization of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) in modern endodontic practice. In addition to increasing the quality of the treated tooth through provision of hermetic 3D seal and its importance. Obturation by definition is to “close off a space” and since 1867 Bowman was first to introduce GP points to root canal filling we have been trying to fulfill the three basic requirements which are Prevent coronal leakage, prevent influx of periapical fluids and Entomb surviving microbes. Still most of Endodontic failures occur as a result of leakage of bacterial invasion from treated and filled root canals into the periapical tissues. Hence, introducing the new smart materials used in root canal fillings and how it affected the overall success rate of the treatment provided.
